Upendo Means Love sells clothing produced in Zanzibar. Upendo Means Love operates as a Company Limited by guarantee having no share capital, which in turn is owned by its members. The Company’s purpose is to support the empowerment of local women and to build relationship between people of different faiths. Upendo Means Love trade goods with respect to producers and their working conditions.

Products 

As a buyer, you understand that all items may vary in appearance and size of the images. We always inform you as a client if there are significant deviations from the picture before we dispatch your order.

Our goal – 100% customer satisfaction 

Upendo Means Loves goal is that our customers will be 100% satisfied. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return your products to us within 14 days. We will refund you the full value of the order minus the shipping costs that you have paid for the products, as soon as we receive the goods back. Before the return – always contact us so that we know that the return is coming.

Sales to minors 

We do not sell our clothing to minors (under 18) without parental consent.

Shipping rates and total cost 

The prices you find on our website is daily updated prices inclusive of local taxes. Price adjustments may be made at any time without notice.

The shipping and handling fee covers the postage of shipping the product to you. Because the shipping costs fluctuates in Zanzibar, the price of shipping may suddenly change. If the shipping cost to your destination exceeds the shipping and handling fee, we do reserve the rights to inform you before we dispatch your order, so that you can decide whether you want to stand by your order or cancel it.

Import

When any customs fees or import taxes are charged by the authorities in the destination country, these shall be payable by the recipient. Fees may vary from country to country.

Complaints 

You are always entitled to unpack the goods and check the finish of the product. If an item is faulty, damaged or defective please contact us immediately. In the event of returning a faulty item Upendo Means Love pays for the freight.

Dispatch 

Upon receiving payment in our bank, we will dispatch the order to the shipping address provided with the order. Shipments usually takes one week from Zanzibar to Europe, but it may occasionally take longer. Upendo is not responsible for any delay during shipping.

Availability 

We do everything in our power to dispatch your order within two days after payment has been received in our bank. If an item differs from the promised delivery and if there is a delay in dispatching the delivery we will notify you by e-mail.

Transportation Liability, damage to shipments 

If goods are damaged or lost during transport from Upendo Means Love on the way to the destination, please contact the Manager of Upendo Means Love. If you upon receipt of your parcel discover that the item is visibly damaged during transport, this must be reported directly to the shipping agent. If you find that when opening the parcel, the contents are damaged or items are lost, this must be reported to Upendo Means Love within 5 days of receipt.

Unclaimed packages 

For packages that are not claimed, Upendo Means Love reserves the right to charge the customer for shipping costs, return shipping and handling costs.

Force Majeure 

Upendo Means Love is not liable for failure to perform its obligations in this agreement if such failure is due to liberating circumstances as described below, and the fact impedes, prevents or delays the performance. As liberating factors to be considered, among others are new or amended legislation, armed conflict, embargo, strike, fire, flood, sabotage or accident of significant size. The force majeure also includes government decisions that affect the market negatively and products, for example, restrictions, warnings, ban on sale etc.
